Crochet crops

Every year on my birthday (or around that time) I try to think up a new skill that I can learn and practice for my new age. One year - I was in Yzerfontein with my mom and there was a Padstal that sells crochet needles and yarn. I was inspired.
Obviously I bought the yellowest of yellow yarn and got on the YouTube and Pinterest train to learn how to make some things!
This yellow crop was my birthday top that year!
I then kept playing with shapes and stitches and made the next greenish one. When I tried on the green top and went to go look how it fits, I was stopped in my tracks by my wonderful cat returning from being missing for 3 weeks.
A loud yelp of joy.
It was the best post-birthday present anyone could ask for so that little top carries a lot of sentiment for me. If I hadn't gone to try it on in my room, I may not have spotted Meow trying to tell us he's home - he'd lost his voice completely at this point. But he was back with us, and it didn't matter/I didn't really even notice that the fit of that top isn't actually great.
